For a motor to spin and provide drive to a power tool, a magnetic field must be created. Conventional electric motors use carbon brushes to change the polarity of this magnetic field through mechanical contact, allowing the motor to continue spinning.
Brushless motors eliminate this frictional contact and provide more precise control using a computer. This means a cooler running motor, high efficiency and longer lifespan of the product.
Brushless motors enable higher revolutions per minute and more torque compared to conventional electric motors. With less friction, brushless motors will deliver maximum performance to work through tougher jobs.
Due to an efficient design, a cooler running motor and a better distribution of power, brushless motors in cordless tools mean a longer runtime per charge.
