MITRE SAW QUICK TIPS – SUPPORTS & STOP BLOCKS

Set yourself up for some quick and easy cutting with these tips for making Mitre Saw supports and stop blocks.

SUPPORT IT

Your Mitre Saw has great extension arms, but they might not be long enough for your project piece. It’s easy to make your own! With some timber offcuts you can create additional supports that sit level with the height of your Mitre Saw base. These will help support long lengths of timber while you’re cutting and keep them nice and level.

STOP BLOCKS

You know the old saying ‘measure twice, cut once’ – well now you can keep just keen on cutting! To make quick work of repeated short cuts to the exact same length, create yourself a stop block. A stop block can be any piece of timber that’s nice and square. It will act as a guide to stop the next piece of timber being fed through at the right distance from the blade, to achieve that perfect length cut.
