4 FACTORS TO NAIL IT
- Consider how hard or how soft your project material is. Harder materials may require more force and pressure.
- The length of the staple or nail to fire in. The longer the nail the more pressure may be needed.
- Tension on the tool. Change the force adjustment dial to adjust how much tension is applied to the workpiece.
- Pressure to apply. Harder materials may require both hands.
It’s always best to give it a go on some scrap or spare material the same as your project to ensure each of the settings above are just right, and your nail or staple goes in flush. But remember, you can always knock it in with a hammer if you need to.
You can adjust the force of the staple nail gun just by turning the dial clockwise that increases the strength but you may need to put a little more downward pressure.
For harder materials firmly hold down the nail gun with two hands while firing. Like with nearly all power tools two hands are better than one.
RESTING BLOCKS
If you’re having a little trouble getting the nails fire straight, perhaps finding or creating a resting block like this could help.
